Abstract
Multiple block coded modulations (MBCM) are studied. A general rule to derive branch variables so as to establish decoding trellis is given. Examples of MBCM schemes employing 8-PSK and 16-PSK constellations are given. It is shown that these schemes provide a class of modulations that are both power and bandwidth efficient. Applications of these MBCM schemes to provide unequal error protection (UEP) are discussed
