  • Abstract
To increase the spectrum efficiency in mobile communications, multi-code code-division multiple-access (MC-CDMA) systems have been proposed. An adaptive MC-CDMA scheme is discussed which allows one to support variable source data-rates by variation of the set of code-sequences assigned to each user. Especially in multimedia scenarios with different data-rates and different requirements on the transmission performance, this technique seems to be superior to known techniques even when fading channels are considered
