  • Abstract
The difference between recycled ceramic aggregate concrete (RCAC) and natural aggregate concrete lies in the application of recycled ceramic aggregate (RCA) in the production of concrete. Therefore research on the characteristic of RCA to improve the quality of RCAC is very important. Testing results of physical performance of recycled ceramic coarse aggregate (RCCA) show that the size of RCA is suitable to control in 5~25mm. The porosity and water absorption of RCA are higher than those of natural coarse aggregate (NCA). At the same time, the apparent density, bulk density, close density, water absorption rate and crush index of RCA is lower than that of NCA. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) experiment of RCA demonstrates that ceramic with non-glazed surface has the obvious hole, but the natural aggregate is opposite.
