Abstract
Benefits of Building Information Model (BIM) for the construction industry are many and varied. Despite the benefits and the range of issues it can bring, BIM for the most part has been treated lightly in project agreement. According to the relatively-recent emergence of BIM and its evolving capabilities and uses, there is a general consensus that the industry must do better. In order to meet the need, the purpose of this article includes the critical problems on contracting for BIM, influence on responsibility and time scope for designers and contractors. It generally discusses contract terms that can help the parties both manage the challenges and maximize the benefits of BIM.
