Abstract
One of the main benefits of using a chemically cured trickle process over a conventional dip and bake process in the production of insulated AC motor stators is the reduced energy consumption. Energy usage will be less because unlike the dip and bake process, chemically cured resins do not require heat induced curing of the resin per the manufacturer´s literature. The paper provides a generalized comparison of the energy cost for processing parts using a dip and bake resin and two available chemically cured trickle resins. Experimental data for part heat-up time is used in conjunction with theoretical calculations for energy consumption to arrive at estimated energy usage
