Abstract
The IEC, the International Electrotechnical Commission, the authority for world standards in electrical and electronics engineering, is elaborating standardisation of "high power transient phenomena". This paper gives updated information concerning the IEC, the organisation of standards, the current progress of work within the sub-committee SC77C, and some highlights of the present results.
