  • Abstract
In this work two slope monitoring applications of a ground-based synthetic aperture radar (GB-SAR) concerning two different time scale phenomena are reported. The short term application consists in observing an Alpine glacier, continuously, all over a period of few days. In the long term application, instead, an area affected by a slow landslide was imaged at different times separated by several months. In both cases and especially in the long term application, the stability of instrumentation and decorrelation of the scenario poses severe limitations to the technique. A detailed description of the technique´s critical aspects experienced so far is given and the currently used precautions are presented
