  • Abstract
    Fin dielectric lines (FDLs) are a new transmission line type, namely EHF waveguiding systems in which a plane-parallel homogeneous dielectric layer supports the wave and thin metal fins serve for concentration of the operation-wave energy over a line section of limited width. We discuss two variants of the FDL: one with fins of different heights and the other with fins of inverted arrangement. In the analysis use is made of a set four integral equations with respect to the tangential field components and a SLAE is derived following the Galerkin method. The characteristics of the fundamental and higher-order modes are determined numerically, analyzed and classified.
