Abstract
A new printed slot antenna is proposed, which is analyzed by the finite difference time domain method. The printed antenna is fed by microstrip line, and the effect of structural parameters on the antenna property is analyzed. The proposed antenna has a wide operating bandwidth from 2.7 to 11.4 GHz defined by |S11|<;-7.9 dB. The simulated and measured return losses and the simulated radiation patterns are given and discussed. The antenna exhibits a stable far-field pattern within the frequency band and omnidirectional radiation characteristics in H-plane can be observed.
