Abstract
The circularly polarized Fabry-Perot resonator (FPR) antenna is presented, which consists of a primary radiator backed with a metal ground plate and a partially reflective surface covered plate composed of appropriate frequency selective surface (FSS) structure with ring elements. For the proposed antenna, an L-probe is utilized to feed the patch orthogonally, a Wilkinson power combiner is connected to the feeds to generate circular polarization, which is act as primary radiator of the antenna. The antenna possessed a 10-dB return loss bandwidth of 15.5%, and has a 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth of 13.2%. A bandwidth of 14.2% for -3 dB directivity drop from peak value is also obtained.
