  • Abstract
The high-order finite element is introduced to solve the open region field of quasistatic EM problems incorporating the measured equation of invariance (MEI). Results show that the presented grid truncation scheme can make the grid truncate more closely with more accurate results than the conventional low-order finite element scheme does. Further, the application of geometry independent MEI in FEM can calculate the MEI coefficients more efficiently and in less time when compared with the usual MEI. Examples involving multiconductor transmission lines and electrostatics are discussed.
