  • Abstract
High availability is a major concern in naval drive applications. In consequence, multiphase machines, e.g. IM with double-star stator windings, are used. To guarantee the high availability, comprehensive scenario-based analyses of the machine-control behaviour in case of faults have to be performed. Asymmetrical faults - which are a practical issue - are not featured by any simplified single-phase ECD. Often the influence of saturation and remanence has to be included in the dynamical machine models. In this paper, a process is presented which allows for formulating models satisfying the introduced requirements. The capability of this approach is illustrated by simulation results of several fault configurations. Based on the introduced models, the robustness of machine controls will be assessed.
