  • Abstract
    The author discusses what is being done to prevent pollution in the development, production, operation, and maintenance of weapon systems that will be fielded years later. He describes the program manager (the decision maker) and the program manager´s work environment. The author discusses the processes in place that are the program manager´s tools. The organizations and committees that support the program manager are reviewed. These three areas summarize the effort that the US Air Force Systems Command is putting on acquisition pollution prevention. Specific success stores from the National Aerospace Plane, B-2, and F-22 are discussed to show what is being done
