Abstract
This paper describes advanced control technologies which have been implemented in DCS (distributed control system). First of all, the hierarchy of a typical plant control system is described. Secondly functional requirements on implementations are described. After that key technologies of each control algorithm are introduced. Self tuning control, fuzzy control, model predictive control, internal model control, and multivariable model predictive control are all discussed
