Abstract
We present a method of tuning transmission and reflection of electromagnetic waves in plasmonic waveguides. Equivalent impedance circuits representing the coupling of the plasmonic waveguides to loads, such as plasmonic detectors, sensors, and switches are studied. Performance improvement is achieved by applying impedance matching concept analogy to that in microwave engineering. This study paves a way to extend the well established microwave theory into optical frequency range.
