Abstract
General double-step discontinuities in metallic circular waveguides are analyzed by using the modal expansion of the corresponding fields. The generalized scattering matrix is derived by imposing the boundary conditions at the two junctions and computed by appropriate truncations. Numerical results for a thick iris are presented.<>
