Abstract
The multichannel adaptive equalizer structure considered in this paper can be used to enhance performance of a line-of-sight communication system by providing for both temporal equalization and spatial diversity. We analyze this multichannel adaptive equalizer for conditions common to the line-of-sight digital radio environment. We first derive the general optimal Wiener filter. From this result, we specifically analyze the case where a spatially correlated interference is incident upon the array and demonstrate how the spatial-temporal characteristics of the equalizer affect performance
