Abstract
Radial distribution systems are frequently reconfigured to maximize their operating performance and reliability. Key criteria for evaluating the optimal performance include kW losses, reliability in terms of probable interruption costs, voltage profile and others. In this work, the radial system is reconfigured to optimize these objectives individually and collectively in a combination. Their effects on each other are presented and reasoned. A sample 33-bus radial distribution system is chosen for analysis.
