  • Abstract
The received signal is often broadened owing to the distortion caused by the antenna system in the time domain. In the present work the distortion is corrected by an inverse filter (IF) based on an adaptive technique. The residual error is discussed, and a corresponding modified adaptive method is proposed. The numerical result is given showing that the received signal can be compressed to be a transmitted pulse. Under the condition of inadequate length, the residual error is a simple function of the length of the IF, the input signal variance, and the squared norm of the truncated part of the optimum impulse response of the IF.<>
