Abstract
An effort is made to show mathematically that there is an admissible class of functions for basis (testing) functions depending upon the choice of testing (basis) functions. Since the physical characteristics of the currents involved may require the use of functions that do not belong to the admissible class of functions, the handling of these functions is also addressed. A general microstrip structure is considered.<>
