  • Abstract
Biometric data are main objects of attacking behaviors to biometric system. For improving iris feature template data security to an iris recognition system, a data hiding method based on bit stream is proposed, in which an iris feature template is embedded into a face image as an example. The proposed method is applicable to present dominant iris recognition techniques. Besides the low computation cost and the zero decoding-error-rate, this data hiding method, embedding a target biometric data into another biometric data, can deceives attackers more effectively in identity recognition, biometric data storage and transmission. Furthermore, it does not make excellent performances of the iris recognition degradation. Experimental results prove that the proposed method is available to be used to protect iris feature templates and enhance the security of the iris recognition system itself.
