Abstract
This paper presents two novel blind equalization algorithms suitable for cross-QAM signals. Based on the framework of the constant cross algorithm (CXA), the improved constant cross algorithm (ICXA) is obtained by introducing multiple contours and adding a control function in the weight update. Furthermore, in order to get better performance, Modified ICXA is obtained by adding a constellation-matched error (CME) term in the cost function of the ICXA. In the MICXA, the ICXA term provides global convergence and the CME term helps to decrease the residual error and accelerate convergence. The equalization performance of the proposed algorithms demonstrated by the simulation result for 32-QAM signal constellation proves that the efficacy of the novel algorithms is better than the existing CXA.
