Abstract
The application of cross-correlation was tested for its suitability for active noise control of structure borne noise resulted from flexible panel vibration. The results on computer simulation show a great potential for its application in suppression of plate vibration. However in practical applications there are limitations, such as computation of the delay time shift, digital sampling of the driving and response signals and the generation of analog actuating signals at the controller. Even with these limitations, the results show a global reduction of sound power radiated from the plate of between 0.5 to 3.8 dB. An advantage of the technique is its simplicity in operation and ease of implementation
