Abstract
Gain correction factors are presented for improved accuracy directivity calculation of pyramidal and sectoral horns. Direct calculation of the gain reduction factors is presented with no path length error approximation. The corrected gain reduction factors are compared with previously published approximate expressions. The new improved accuracy gain calculation gives results equal to the previous approximate calculations for large apertures (A or B>50 lambda ) or small peak aperture phase error (S or T<0.2 lambda ). However, for A or B=5 lambda and S or T=1 lambda , the gain calculated using this improved accuracy method is reduced by more than 0.7 dB compared to the classical method.<>
