Abstract
The power spectrum density (PSD) variation of heart rate obtained during the standard Bruce protocol exercise testing is analyzed. Auto-regression and Fourier Transform methods are used to estimate PSD. Since RR variation displayed rapid stepwise decreases immediately following the increases of exercise loads, it was necessary to analyze each exercise step separately. For each step two major peaks in the power spectrum were found similar to what is observed in rest HRV studies. The need for new algorithms is emphasized
