Abstract
The Heart Rate Variability (HRV) signal acquired from normal subjects exhibits an underlying power-law spectral attenuation discrete spectral peaks. The authors define the power-law component of HRV as the Residual HRV (rHRV) and they propose a preprocessing scheme to extract rHRV. In this paper, they investigate multi-scale properties of rHRV obtained from the same normal subject during rest and exercise periods
