Abstract
The design analysis and fabrication technique of an omnidirectional microstrip slot antenna for mobile communications are discussed. The antenna was designed at a 2-GHz center frequency, a VSWR (voltage standing wave ratio) of 1.5:1, and a 0.87% bandwidth, and on FR-4 glass epoxy substrate with in /sub r/=4.85, h=0.159 cm. The experimental results are compared with the required design values and the reasons for discrepancy are investigated.<>
