Abstract
In multibeam satellite communication and personal communication, both of which use millimeter waves, it is necessary to shape the radiation pattern to enhance frequency reuse. We propose a new digital tuning method that uses the gradient of performance index in genetic algorithm optimization. The paper describes a comparison of tuning results output by the conventional genetic algorithm and proposed method given the intended beam shape.
