  • Abstract
    Texas A&M University at Qatar places significant influence on the use of technology-based instruction and blended-teaching approaches to augment traditional class instruction and support students´ learning. This paper reports on the effectiveness of streaming video as a complementary curriculum delivery method in improving students´ learning. Streaming videos were used to describe complex manufacturing processes to students enrolled in the junior level course entitled “Materials and Manufacturing Selection in Design”. The videos used in this course are part of the Fundamental Manufacturing Processes Video Series. The benefits of using streaming videos in delivering part of the course content were assessed through an online survey of students. The students´ responses indicated that the videos were very useful to understand the course content especially that the homework assignments included questions that students had to answer about the content of these videos.
