Abstract
The emission spectra of the blue Ph of SNSO are composed of 6 sub-bands exhibiting similar optical properties. The HWA treatment for rare-earth doped SNSO is very effective in activating the rare-earth emission in contrast to the conventional thermal annealing. Observed strong interaction between rare earth ions and the blue-emitting levels suggest the possibility of phosphorescent SNSO as a host matrix for efficient energy transfer. It may lead to enhancement of every emission line in the range from visible to infrared.
