Preface

We are proud to present the proceedings of the first IEEE Workshop on Information Forensics and Security (WIFS´09) sponsored by the IEEE Signal Processing Society. Our aspiration is that WIFS´09 is the first in a long line of workshops/conferences associated with the SPS Technical Committee on Information Forensics and Security. Our aim is that WIFS´09 and its successors will offer a venue for knowledge exchange that encompasses a broad range of disciplines on Information Forensics and Security and facilitates the exchange of ideas between the various disparate communities. By so doing, we hope that researchers will identify new opportunities for collaboration across disciplines and gain new perspectives.
