Abstract
In this paper, a wavelength converter based on cross-phase modulation (XPM) in the high-nonlinear fiber is designed. A theoretical model for wavelength conversion is established. How to choose nonlinear fiber length and input optical power is important for wavelength conversion, an expression is obtained after theoretical analysis. Also the performance of wavelength conversion is simulated and analyzed. The simulation results show that wavelength conversion based on XPM can be realized, and it has a good performance.
