Abstract
Steady-state and dynamic modeling of the series resonant converter with third-order commutation network is presented. Concepts of harmonic balance and describing functions are used to derive state-space linearized equations which are used to characterize the system dynamic performance under variable frequency control. The influence of parasitic resistances (ESR) and the output filter component values on the dynamics of the converter are explored
