Abstract
A method for the reliability design of private networks is proposed. This method is intended to assist in the business of providing private networks that satisfy customers. A new reliability model for networks is proposed based on a consideration of actual network structure. Measures for reliability are defined in terms of network applications and an algorithm for the evaluation of reliability is established. The method is implemented as a software tool for use in network design. Some examples of evaluation in relation to the solution-provision business are presented.
