  • Abstract
    The Joint Coordinated System Planning( JCSP) study has developed future transmission conceptual designs to serve the areas of the Mid west ISO, PJM , SPP including Energy, NE-ISO, NYISO, TVA, MAPP. The conceptual design includes multiple HVDC and EHV lines in an overlay. The HVDC communications, power control and control functionalities meld well with Wide Area Management System functions and goals. Some possible applications are discussed using a simplified JCSP architecture example.
