  • Abstract
The increasingly severe situation of micro-organic pollutants in drinking water resources and the improvement of standards for drinking water quality promote the exploration of advanced treatment processes for drinking water. Ultraviolet scanning analysis, capillary chromatography and SOS Chromogenic were utilized to investigate the improvement degree of drinking water quality by UV, O3 and UV/O3 process from the macroscopic angle. The experimental results showed that in the detection range, relative UV extinction value drawn by UV/O3 was 4.3 times higher than that of UV at least. The extend of treatment time for UV/O3 increased from 30min up to 60min led to an improvement of UV extinction value ranged from 5.2 to 11 percent; After the treatment by UV/O3 process, Peak quantity of capillary chromatography was determined as decreased 36 percent, 1.24 times of O3 and 2.12 times of UV, respectively. The peak area was determined as decreased 65 percent, 2.12 times of O3 and 1.18 times of UV, respectively. Based on the result of SOS Chromogenic, the SOS inductive coefficient was 6.43, which showed strongly positive, while through the treatments of O3, UV and UV/O3, the SOS inductive coefficient decreased to 3.43, 3.57, and 1.29, respectively, the first two showed as positive and dubious water quality for the latter.
