  • Abstract
    This paper presents a novel, and highly practical, global channel borrowing method for cellular communications. Unlike the traditional notion of channel sharing between adjacent cells, we consider the global and dynamic channel borrowing approach that allows real-time borrowing of channels from cells that are remote. We propose heuristics to solve the channel borrowing problem at the instance of high traffic load-which brings in the issues of the remote chain borrowing strategy and the concept of dynamic resource reservation pools. The results of the undertaken strategy are validated by simulation
