Macrocellular angle-of-arrival and delay measurements at 1800 MHz

The optimum design and deployment of future smart antenna systems will require a thorough understanding of the propagation environment in which they are to operate. To this end a comprehensive propagation measurement tool, termed the Aperture Analyser, has been developed that allows the angular and temporal distribution of the propagation channel to be measured. The design of the Aperture Analyser is summarised and the results of a series of trials in suburban and rural environments are presented
