Abstract
We developed an active virus filter (AVF) that was able to virus enrichment for single virus manipulation by using the insulator based dielectrophoresis (iDEP). The design of 3D constricted flow channel enabled the microfluidic chip to produce iDEP force. We utilized maskless photolithography to achieve the precise 3D gray-scale exposure for constricted flow channel. When we applied sinusoidal wave to the electrodes within the range of amplitude of 20 Vp-p and frequency of 10 MHz. AVF achieved enrichment of APR/8 influenza virus by the negative dielectrophoretic force. These results demonstrated that AVF have the dual function of the virus trapping and the virus adherence inhibition.
