  • Abstract
In the middle of last century, biology researchers found that weakly electric fish could sense weak electric field changes of the environment to navigate and prey, which is commonly known as active electric field location. In this paper, we built an experiment system for active electrolocation by simulating weakly electric fish. The effect on electrolocation of electrodes different in materials was studied. Finally, a pair of electrodes was found, which is electrochemical stable and low in electrochemical noise and achieved underwater location with direct current excitation by active electrolocation system.
