Abstract
AMD´s MACH family of Complex PLDs (CPLDs) are capable of implementing high density, complex logic solutions with fast predictable speed. Architecture innovations in the MACH family of devices include: hierarchical architecture, flexible routing with 100% routability, in-system programming, JTAG compliance, predictable speed, innovative logic, intelligent logic allocation, power down features, and the ability to retain pinouts with logic changes. These devices are designed to be easy to use and have the lowest cost of ownership. This paper focuses on the architecture innovations of the fifth generation MACH family of devices and their applications in computing and communications
