Abstract
A conceptual design of a spatial power combining antenna is described. The design was developed as a potential satellite cross link terminal, and consists of a shaped dual reflector fed by the power combining array. The RF performance of an optimized design is evaluated, and compared to a conventional design that utilizes a TWT amplifier as a transmit source. Analysis shows that the power combining antenna achieves comparable performance to the conventional design but requires substantially less weight
