  • Abstract
ABI (ankle-brachial blood pressure index) and PWV (pulse wave velocity) are two major evaluating factors in vascular function test. Methods of blood pressure measurement both in time and frequency domain are introduced and compared for calculating ABI value. Experimental results show that the method in frequency domain is obviously better than that in time domain in terms of conquering disturbances of myopalmus. An algorithm based on wavelet transform for detecting PWV is presented. The algorithm extracts start points of pulse wave signal by detecting inter zone minimum values of smoothed high frequency wavelet curve and exhibits good stability for the unique characters of wavelet analysis both in time and frequency domain. Experimental results demonstrate that the algorithm attains satisfying effects. Some improvement measures are proposed at the end.
