Abstract
The slope of a Fowler-Nordheim plot for field emission current has a tendency to decrease with decreasing emitter to anode distance at a micro-meter range. Fairly good coincidence of the tendency between the experimental results and the numerically calculated ones confirms that the Fowler-Nordheim equation is still effective for such a short emitter to anode distance as less than one micro-meter.
