Abstract
The elements in the eco-geochemical environment have the close relationship with human´s health. In this paper, take the iodine as an example, based on the data of eco-geochemical investigation at the lower Yellow River in Shandong Province, the distribution of iodine in eco-geochemical environment of Yuncheng is summarized. The relationship between endemic goiter and iodine in environment is studied from the respect of relief soils and potable water. It suggests that endemic goiter has high positive correlation with iodine content in water and it has no correlation with iodine content in soils. The results can provide qualitative basis for the prevention and control of the endemic goiter, and have positive significance for economic and social development.
