Abstract
The paper develops a dynamic output feedback sliding mode design procedure for a class of uncertain linear systems. The method enables output feedback sliding mode strategies to be employed when the `Kimura-Davison´ conditions are not satisfied. The method is applicable to systems with stable invariant zeros and the case of matched uncertainty is considered. The controller is synthesised to tolerate certain amounts of nonlinearity and matched model uncertainty. A numerical example demonstrates the procedure
