Abstract
Interactive multimedia system represents a key technology rapidly evolving from marketing hype and research prototypes to commercial deployments. In distributed video on demand system the server has complete control over the session and has the freedom to explore the depth of both live and stored programming as maintained by future information providers. Development of these interactive multimedia services, the distributed system requires to solve some set of issues. However the distributed system deserves to integrate of these many technologies to achieve better performance for the end to end connection. This paper presents the technology considerations for the design of a large scale distributed interactive multimedia system. The distributed system performance for the video on demand system presented by multirate dataflow between the class of cluster of customers and server.
