  • Abstract
In this paper, we introduce the extention of a stream synthesis method, initially born for combinational networks, to the case of sequential circuits. The peculiar feature of the method is the use of spectral analysis techniques based on the DFT to determine a reduced sequence of vectors that enables one to shorten power simulation time at a very limited accuracy penalty. Effectiveness and robustness of the proposed synthesis procedure are demonstrated by the results we have obtained on standard sequential benchmarks for a variety of input streams characterized by different statistics and correlations
