  • Abstract
This paper divides IT/IS innovation behavior into two types of innovation behavior: complex information systems innovation behavior and simple software tools innovation behavior. Based on the analysis from ERG theory and social capital theory, the paper builds a formation mechanism model of employee´s IT/IS innovation behavior, and it proposes some research hypotheses. Through both the deep-interviews with IT employees in some enterprises and measurement items from existing research literature, we design and collect 225 questionnaires for IT employees to test the proposed model and research hypotheses. Data results show that four variables, including network expert tie, trust, existence need and growth need, have the positive influence on employee´s complex information systems innovation behavior; two variables, including trust and relatedness need, have the positive influence on employee´s software tools innovation behavior.
