Abstract
This paper presents an experiment of 3 different kinds of window shading performances: plants, blind and non-shading in summer to compare the heat flow transferred through the window. And then, cutting the leaves of the plants, the author attempts to find out the relationship between the leaf area and the heat transfer. Through the experiments, we have the main conclusion: using the plant shading, the heat transfer through the window is much lower than non-shading condition, and very close to the blind performance. As long as cutting the plant leaves, the shading effects go down dramatically.
